Fieldwork, more than anything else, characterises the
discipline of anthropology. It advocates face to face experience with its
subjects. Gopal saran (1983) puts it brilliantly by stating that, ‘this is due
to the anthropologists’ desire to receive phenomenon through his own senses
because of his great love of facts” offer anthropology.
